Open-air cinema at La Villette 2025

Every summer, Parc de la Villette hosts one of the most beloved cultural events of the Parisian summer: the Open-Air Cinema. Until August 17, 2025, the festival offers free screenings at nightfall in a friendly, starry atmosphere.

The 2025 edition celebrates dance and music under the theme “Bodies and Chords.” The program features classics, cult films, and contemporary works focusing on movement, rhythm, and physical expression. Each evening (Wednesday through Sunday), moviegoers gather on the large lawn in front of a giant screen. Bring your blankets or rent a deckchair on site.

Entry is free and no reservation is required. Screenings begin around 10 PM, depending on sunset.

From Hôtel Jardin de Villiers (18 rue Claude Pouillet, Paris 17ᵉ), the trip is simple: Take Metro Line 2 at Villiers (toward Nation), transfer at Jaurès to Line 5 (toward Bobigny – Pablo Picasso), and get off at Porte de Pantin. Parc de la Villette is right outside the station.

The open-air cinema is a great way to enjoy warm Parisian summer nights—alone, as a couple, with friends, or with family.
