The Palais des Congrès, its history and its tradeshows

Designed by a team of architects on the site of the ex Luna Park closed in 1948, the Palais des Congrès with the Hotel Concorde Lafayette were built in 1970. With the construction of the beltway at the same time, the entire area was redeveloped. It was with the creation of the International Center of Paris that the Palais de Congrès was inaugurated in February 1974. Between 1997 and1999, the exhibition areas were enlarged, the Bordeaux amphitheater visible on the façade with its sloping shape testifies to this expansion. The Palais des Congrès is a place that welcomes the top cultural, artistic, political and professional in its four amphitheaters. It was in 1976 that this conference center hosted its first event with the César du Cinéma. Then there were performances such as that of Serge Lama in 1975, Starmania in 1979 and hundreds more in other subjects.
